The Montgomery Township Committee approved its consent agenda and routine matters at the start of the meeting, consolidating multiple resolutions into a single motion and passing them by roll call.
Among recorded actions, the committee adopted Resolution 26-8-216 authorizing payment of posted bills (finance staff listed the three largest items: Somerset County taxes of $5,154,596.71; library taxes of $660,233.15; and county open-space trust funds of $573,667.80). The committee also adopted Resolution 26-8-217 appointing Cookie Franco Herman as chair of the Municipal Alliance; Herman accepted the office and described her volunteer background. Finally, the committee adopted Resolution 26-8-218 extending the grace period for the third-quarter 2026 property-tax installment through Sept. 2, 2026.
Votes were recorded by roll call for each adoption. The committee also introduced Ordinance 26-1780, authorizing the acquisition by gift of Block 6001, Lot 33.03 (Dayflower Drive) and scheduled a public hearing and final vote for the Aug. 20 meeting.
The committee said it will circulate more information about specific consent-agenda items on the township website and that staff can provide details on any resolution upon request.
