Board convenes executive session on labor negotiations and school safety

Following adjournment of the public meeting, Chair Pam Shields convened the Board into executive session pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(d) and ORS 192.660(2)(k). Participants included Board members, Superintendent James Owens, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tasha Katsuda, Director Paul Southerton, Chief Communications Officer Christine Andregg (joining virtually), Executive Assistant Missy Grindle, and labor-law counsel CDR Attorney Chris Duckworth (virtual). At 10:27 pm Mr. Duckworth left and Director of Student Services Denise Wright and Federal Programs Administrator Sonia Nelson Carranza joined for a discussion about district safety. The executive session adjourned at 10:55 pm. No public actions were taken during the closed session; statutory citations were recorded in the minutes.
