Board forms small policy-review committees to update district policies

Chair Pam Shields explained that the Board will use small Superintendent policy-review committees to ensure board practices align with existing policy and to identify areas for revision. She listed committee memberships and the policies each group will review, and said committees will report any recommended edits to the Superintendent and Board leadership.
Policies identified for review include BHD (Board Member Compensation and Expense Reimbursement), BK (Evaluation of Board Operational Procedures), DBEA (Budget Committee) and IIC/IICA (Field Trips and Excursions). Board members were encouraged to notify staff of any additional policies that should be reviewed.
