Lisa Merrick, senior program administrator for government affairs, presented an overview of the upcoming 2026 legislative short session, highlighting key dates, the December revenue forecast, state reserve funds and policy issues likely to affect K–12 funding. She said the district should coordinate advocacy and monitor fiscal pressures in the state budget process.
Merrick noted that any changes related to federal disconnection would apply to a future fiscal year and that the district will share advocacy priorities and details for an Advocacy Day scheduled Feb. 13.
