Student Representative Sahara Sanko reported a positive start to the school year, saying student engagement and school spirit were high. She said the girls' soccer team was undefeated so far while the boys' team had one loss; the volleyball team recently beat Illinois Valley and held a 5—6 record.
Sanko also highlighted upcoming Homecoming activities: a parade on Friday, Sept. 26, and a dance on Saturday, Sept. 27, and noted that Brookings-Harbor students were scheduled to perform as an opening act for the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert at Azalea Park on Oct. 5. The student report served as a brief update on extracurriculars and school events for the board.
