The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission granted the applicant’s request to continue MPD‑6 (Fair Oaks Master Planned Development) to Jan. 7, 2026. Applicant representative Lou Reynolds told the Commission that a neighbor had filed bankruptcy and the development team needs relief from the bankruptcy stay before proceeding; the applicant asked for roughly a 60‑day continuance.
The Commission approved the continuance 10-0, with a motion by Turner‑Addison and second by Rosene Robinson. During the discussion, a member of the public, August Wakat, vocally objected to the continuance, at one point yelling that the continuance was illegal and was removed by security. Staff and the applicant said they will pursue the appropriate legal and administrative steps required by the bankruptcy process before returning the case to the Commission.
The continuance defers consideration of MPD‑6’s multi‑area development standards and timing; the applicant indicated the requested continuance is intended to provide time to resolve the legal claim so the item can proceed with clear title and plan approvals.
