The committee recommended that the director of finance/administration be authorized to execute engagement letters with Lund CPAs for the 2025 audit. A staff presenter told the committee the firm's fee for the year is $30,790, a 2% increase over the prior year, and added there is a $3,180 charge for Lund to prepare the financial statements rather than the district preparing them.
Erica Pastor of Lund CPAs walked the committee through the audit timeline, saying interim work will occur in late January and year-end fieldwork at the end of March, with final financials expected to be presented around the June board meeting. "We begin our interim process, which is normally when we review the district's internal control process," Pastor said. Staff said the additional statement-preparation service is budgeted and is expected to reduce repeated back-and-forth edits.
