North Clackamas board adopts $592.6 million budget, sets tax rates for 2025-26

The North Clackamas School District Board of Directors on June 5 adopted a fiscal year 2025-26 budget totaling $592,553,170 and approved related appropriations and tax measures. The motion to adopt the budget (R24/25-82) was moved by Director Tory McVay and seconded by Vice Chair Jena Benologa; the motion passed 6-0.
The board also approved the amounts to be appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 (R24/25-83). In setting ad valorem property taxes for tax year 2025-26 (R24/25-84), the board approved a permanent rate of $4.8701 per $1,000 of assessed value and a local option of $1.63 per $1,000 of assessed value, and set $44,969,115 for general obligation bond debt service. The board categorized those levies under Article XI section 11b (R24/25-85). All budget- and tax-related votes recorded in the minutes were unanimous (6-0).
Board members said the budget and tax resolutions followed the public budget hearing, which Chair Kathy Wai opened and then closed after noting that no one testified. The budget takes effect July 1, 2025, as shown in the adopted resolutions. The board did not record additional amendments in the minutes during the meeting.
