The board spent part of its Aug. 7 meeting on routine administrative items, including a first read of policy updates and review of financial materials.
Superintendent Swagerty explained the meaning of a "First Read" for policy items and invited board members to review the materials at the district office prior to the second read. Tim Crider presented district financial information and the check register as an information‑only item; no action was taken on financials. Earlier in the meeting the board approved consent items — including the July 1 and July 10 minutes and surplus declarations — by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
The board also scheduled a work session for Aug. 21 and the next regular meeting for Sept. 4, both noted in the information section of the packet.
