Food service reports first-week summer meal counts: 1,419 breakfasts, 1,665 lunches

Food Service Director Amey Moldt updated the North Bend School District board on the NBSD Summer Food Service Program at the Aug. 7 meeting.
"During the first week the program served 1,419 breakfasts and 1,665 lunches to children in our community," Moldt reported, and she said the department will continue looking for ways to support students via child nutrition programs. Moldt also noted a Friday partnership with Art in the Park, hosted by the Coos County Art Museum.
The department said it will seek additional opportunities to expand access and support for students during non‑school months; the board received the update as an informational item.
