Superintendent: kindergarten class appears small; facilities staff praised and start-of-school dates set

Superintendent Aaron Duff provided the district report: he said he had no exact enrollment numbers yet "but did report the incoming Kindergarten class would be low in numbers." He acknowledged maintenance and custodial staff for summer projects and said Mr. Gaines will present a full facilities report at the next meeting.
Duff reviewed calendar items: all new staff are scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 18, returning staff on Aug. 18 (minutes list the same date twice), and students will return in stages beginning Aug. 25; summer meals and programs end this week. He also noted the district reserved space for board members possibly attending the upcoming OSBA conference and said interviews for a junior student representative are planned for September with the representative beginning at the October meeting.
