Interim superintendent proposes 20 school visits over two years; charter schools included

Interim Superintendent Jeanne Grazioli presented a multi-year plan for Board school visits at the July 16 retreat. The plan calls for scheduling 10 school visits with principals during the 2025–26 school year and 10 during 2026–27, and invites Board members to greet students at schools on the first day of school.
Grazioli also clarified logistics: individual classroom or facility visits may be arranged through the Board Secretary with at least 24 hours’ notice, and charter school visits will be offered. The proposal is intended to increase Board visibility in schools and strengthen connections between trustees, principals and students.
Board members welcomed the visits as a way to better understand school-level priorities; no formal schedule was adopted at the retreat, and staff will provide dates for facility tours currently undergoing summer upgrades.
