Board accepts resignations and appoints new coaches and a music teacher

The Board accepted letters of resignation from Washington Elementary campus monitor Julian Mayorga Diaz (effective Sept. 9, 2025) and McCabe Elementary instructional aide Miriam Placencia (effective Sept. 30, 2025), and approved four hires during its Sept. 24 meeting.
By roll call (motion passed 7–0), trustees hired Delilah Ovalle as a fully credentialed music teacher at McCabe Elementary School, Jose Reyes as Mendota High varsity girls basketball head coach, William Modesto as varsity girls soccer head coach and Elijah Clark as varsity boys basketball head coach; the minutes record these hires as recommended by site principals. The minutes list no salary figures or contract lengths for the hires; human-resources administration is responsible for onboarding and contract completion.
