The Medford School District Board of Education adopted the FY2025-26 budget and related appropriation and tax resolutions at its June 26 meeting.
Interim Superintendent Jeanne Grazioli and staff explained the board delayed formal adoption until as much state information as possible was available. Director Sunny Spicer declared a conflict of interest as the executive director of an organization that receives district funds and recused herself from the budget adoption vote.
A motion to approve the Resolution Adopting the 2025-26 Budget was presented by Jeff Kinsella and seconded by Kendell Ferguson. The roll-call vote recorded five yeas and no nays (Spicer recused), and the motion passed. The Board then approved the Resolution Making Appropriations and the Resolution to Impose and Categorize Taxes, each passing by roll-call vote (each recorded as Yea: 5, No: 0). Finance staff were commended for their work navigating a complex budget process while final state numbers remained pending.
