Board approves student trips, fundraisers and district construction notice to proceed

The Mendota Unified School District board unanimously approved a consent calendar that bundled student overnight trips, multiple fundraisers and several administrative contracts and reports.
Approved student travel included Mendota High English Learner participation in Future U (San Diego, Nov. 21–23, 2025), UCLA Shadows Day (Apr. 3–5, 2026) and Stride 4 Success Summer Academy (Santa Cruz, June 21–26, 2026), each limited to up to 10 students per trip. The board also approved a Speech & Debate trip for 7–12 migrant education students to Camp Scicon (Oct. 3–5, 2025). Several school fundraisers for prizes, PBIS incentives and ASB were approved along with extracurricular club sales and alumni events.
On facilities and contracts, trustees approved a Notice to Proceed to BMY Construction Group for the Mendota Unified District Office project and accepted the Proposition 28 Arts and Music Annual Report for FY 2024–25. The board also approved a consulting agreement with Title IX Consultant LLC effective Sept. 8, 2025. The consent motion passed on a 7–0 roll call.
