Board approves Budget Amendment #3-2024-25; staff say it does not affect director’s program

The Medford School District Board of Education unanimously approved Budget Amendment #3-2024-25 during its June 26 meeting at Oakdale Middle School.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations Brad Earl told the Board that Budget Amendment #3 contains juvenile detention funding, special education funding and the state school fund true-up. Director Sunny Spicer asked whether the amendment included funds tied to her preschool organization; Earl responded that it did not. A motion to approve the amendment, offered by Jeff Kinsella and seconded by Kendell Ferguson, passed on a roll-call vote with six yeas and no nays.
Board members did not request further changes to the amendment. The approval clears the amendment so staff can update accounting and program allocations consistent with the adjustments Earl outlined.
