Board member urges earlier involvement and faster inventory updates

A long-serving board member who identified herself as Vicky told consultants and staff the Landmark Preservation Board has historically funded and helped produce inventory work and urged earlier inclusion in the current survey process. "Waiting till next year for an inventory update is just I I just don't find it tenable for what we do, frankly," Vicky said, arguing the board should be kept involved and consulted as the consultant finalizes the survey population and methodology.
Vicky pressed HRA to coordinate on mid-century modern resources that the board has tracked for years and to ensure board members can contribute their knowledge and past inventory work. HRA’s Chris Anne Beckner responded that she wants to learn from the board’s prior work and stay in conversation throughout the process; Beckner said HRA will make efforts to engage the board before 2027 and to share interim findings with staff and the board.
