Chris Anne Beckner, an architectural historian with Historical Research Associates (HRA), described the firm’s scope for the Bothell citywide survey update. HRA plans two survey components: a reconnaissance-level survey to document 100 previously undocumented resources and a windshield/integrity check of 100 previously recorded resources to update eligibility and integrity recommendations. "We want to conduct survey and inventory of 100 previously undocumented resources," Beckner said, and added that the deliverable will be a survey report and 200 historic property inventory (HPI) forms.
Beckner said HRA will prioritize areas outside downtown that face development pressure, will review archival records (King and Snohomish County assessor data, historic maps, aerial photographs), and expects field work to take about a week (August–September) once the survey population is finalized. HRA projected a draft survey report around April 2027, with final inventory forms and the full report by December 2027, and pledged monthly project reports to city staff and continued outreach to the Landmark Preservation Board.
