Deputy Director Jen Wilson told the board that two state grant contracts were finalized and distributed to county boards: a $1,000,000 grant for 2025 election expenses and a $5,000,000 grant to cover mail-ballot costs. She said counties have returned signed contracts on a rolling basis and claims are being submitted.
Wilson also reviewed federal grant activity, reporting that the board submitted HAVA security reports to the Elections Assistance Commission and is working to close out legacy HAVA subawards. She provided balances on active state grants, noting the Shoebox grant balance had fallen from $797,000 at the last meeting to just over $300,000.
