State Board reports 735,063 online voter registrations and MTX software progress

The State Board reported substantial growth in online voter registration since May 2023: "735,063 New Yorkers have used the online portal to register," co-executive director Kristen said, adding that about 26,000 people registered through the portal since the last report. Kristen said the board is monitoring usage while developing agency-wide software, and that phase 1 of Automatic Voter Registration (ABR) connections is nearing completion with three agencies scheduled to connect in the first quarter of 2026.
Kristen also updated the board on the MTX software integration and a planned public reporting site. She said MTX has been on-site since March 2024 and that the new public reporting functionality is expected to go live in early 2026. The co-executive director framed these projects as efforts to streamline systems for voters, county boards and other stakeholders, and said the board is soliciting stakeholder feedback including from advocacy groups and media.
