"Enrollment down 60 students year over year; attendance and tardiness have improved," Bennett said, and he reported a projected graduation rate for the Class of 2026 of 85–86 percent. Bennett also described the "Bruin PAWS" initiative that rewards punctual students with weekly Dutch Bros prizes and recounted Academic Success Day activities, which included PSAT testing, career rotations and a Brookings Police Department K-9 demonstration.
Student Nathan Hill demonstrated the Coffee Cave and Student Store website, illustrating a student-led digital project tied to school activities. The board acknowledged the challenges posed by declining enrollment while noting improvements in attendance metrics.
