Pendleton board approves $50,000 gym floor grant and multiple classroom and wellness grants

At its April 14 meeting the Pendleton School District 16R Board approved multiple grants and donations for district schools and programs. The largest listed award was a $50,000 grant from Buck Boosters to resurface the Warberg Gym floor at Pendleton High School; other approvals included $10,000 from the Oregon Well-Being Trust to support education employee well-being, $739.99 for a small gym sound system upgrade, and smaller classroom grants ranging from $196.95 to $350.
Director Mason Murphy moved to approve the full list of grants and asked that a letter of appreciation be sent to each donor; Director Beth Harrison seconded. The motion carried unanimously as recorded in the minutes. Grants and donations also included Sodexo's $500 scholarship contribution and a donation of 800 copies of a children's book from the Amy Krouse Rosenthal Foundation.
