Darlene Cooper was appointed president of the Boquet Valley Central School District Board of Education for the 2025–26 school year during the board’s July 1 reorganization meeting. After nominations and roll-call voting the board announced Cooper’s appointment and administered the oath of office.
The board also selected Deb Spalding as vice president after a separate nomination process. The meeting record shows the vice president selection passed with a recorded outcome described during the meeting as "5 to 2." Following her appointment Cooper addressed the board, thanking colleagues and pledging to lead efforts to ensure “our students receive a quality education.” The board then completed routine committee and liaison appointments for the year.
The appointments were part of the meeting’s reorganization agenda that also included approval of minutes, designation of bank depositories and committee rosters. The board administered oaths to newly appointed officers and a student board member before moving on to regular business.
