Cloud Lake schedules Feb. 19 flood-risk workshop; FDOT plans $1.5M wrong-way driving detection project

Town Clerk Dorothy Gravelin told the council several community items and regional projects affecting Cloud Lake.
Gravelin said a Multi-Jurisdictional Flooding and Sea Level Rise Risk Assessment Draft Report workshop with Cloud Lake and Glen Ridge is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall and will include refreshments. She also reported that FDOT proposes an Advanced Wrong Way Driving Detection Project for several I-95 interchange exit ramps; the one-year project would flash DO NOT ENTER signs to wrong-way drivers and alert the Regional Transportation Management Center, and will cost about $1.5 million. A public information workshop is to be scheduled before the project's planned Fall 2026 start date.
Gravelin also noted the Citizens Committee on Airport Noise will meet next Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the PBIA Department of Airports office to consider locations for noise monitors and integration with a new Dashboard/Flight/Aircraft Metrics system; additional monitors are being added in response to Presidential flight restrictions associated with Mar-a-Lago.
