Board OKs broad consent agenda of facility and procurement contracts; approves beverage services separately
Summary

During the April 28 meeting the Board approved a broad consent agenda covering budget status and amendments, facility improvement program status and a long list of contract awards. Contract awards listed in the minutes include: Tully Stadium turf replacement; SBISD Pre-K playground equipment replacement; Summer 2025 middle school track repair and replacement; equipment, building and hardware supplies; bank depository services; computer purchases/repairs; increases for police radios and first aid/AED equipment; grounds and landscaping services; athletic equipment and swimwear; employee benefits; and grounds maintenance goods and services.
Trustee Caroline H. Bennett asked that item C9 (Request for Proposal for Beverage for Athletic Concession & Hospitality) be removed from the consent agenda for separate discussion and vote. Trustee Chris Earnest explained the beverage service quotes received from various companies during that separate discussion. Trustee Bennett then moved to approve item C9 and Secretary Shannon Mahan seconded; the minutes record the motion passed 5-0.
Why it matters: The approved contracts direct near-term capital and procurement spending (turf replacement, playgrounds, track repairs) and vendor relationships for services the district uses across campuses. The minutes record unanimous approval for the consent items and the separately considered beverage contract.
