District staff: federal Title funds held for review will reduce near-term revenue

Superintendent (S2) told the board that the U.S. Department of Education is reviewing FY2025 awards amid a change in administration, and several Title programs are being held. He specifically named Title I-C, II-A, III-A and IV-A/B as affected and said the district is already planning around the hold by using one-time carryover funds.
S2 described the immediate financial effect as "a loss for us at about just over $60,000 this year. So in total, about a $160,000 for our own impact." He emphasized that some previously budgeted Title 4 work can continue because of carryover but that future-year planning must assume reduced federal awards unless the district receives updated guidance. Staff said they will reallocate one-time funds and update the budget as more information becomes available.
