Board approves five local policies, tables gifted-and-talented policy EHBB for further review

The policies approved in the package were DH(LOCAL): Employee Standards of Conduct; EHB(LOCAL): Curriculum Design ' Special Programs; GKA(LOCAL): Community Relations ' Conduct on School Premises; CAA(LOCAL): Fiscal Management Goals and Objectives ' Financial Ethics; and CDA(LOCAL): Other Revenues ' Investments. The Board's minutes record that the Board proceeded with a single motion to adopt those policies, subject to Trustee Perez's request to pull EHBB.
Why it matters: EHBB governs identification and services for gifted students; tabling the policy delays any immediate change to the district's approach to gifted-and-talented services and indicates trustees want additional review or information before adoption. The Board did not provide a timetable for when EHBB will return for consideration.
