South Umpqua SD 19 swears in appointee to vacant Zone 3 seat

The South Umpqua SD 19 Board of Directors appointed and swore in the district's new Zone 3, Position 3 member and administered the oath of office to incoming and returning board members. Chair (S3) opened the item and moved to fill the vacancy; the appointee was identified in discussion as Brandon Richardson.
Jeffrey Johnson (S1) formally took the oath for his board seat. As he spoke, he said, "I, Jeffrey Johnson, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the constitution of The United States, the constitution of the state of Oregon, and the laws thereof, and the policies of the South And West Coast District." The board then conducted votes to elect officers for the 2025-26 year and approved the slate without recorded opposition. The board also declared Canyonville Zone 1, Position 2 vacant and directed staff to post the opening per district policy.
