The Seaside School District 10 Board of Directors on June 17 adopted the district’s fiscal year 2025–26 budget totaling $49,796,426.
On a motion by Board Member Sondra Gomez, seconded by Shannon Swedenborg, the resolution setting appropriations passed unanimously among present members (Yea: 5, Nay: 0, Absent: 2). The adopted appropriations include $30,011,545 for the General Fund, $8,207,427 for Special Revenue funds, $7,261,416 for Debt Service and $2,800,000 for Capital Projects. The resolution states the total adopted budget is on file at the District Office at 2600 Spruce Drive, Suite 100.
Superintendent Susan Penrod told the board the Budget Committee had approved the proposed budget in May and that the board’s vote was the final ratification step. The resolution also sets property tax rates for tax year 2024–2025 at $4.4105 per $1,000 for the permanent rate and $0.52 per $1,000 for the local option, and levies $5,434,000 for general obligation bond debt service.
Board members did not propose additional amendments during the meeting. The budget will go into effect for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025.
