The minutes record the action: “A motion was made by Allen Wells seconded by Brandon Fry to approve keeping the name of the new school with the current name, Splendora Junior High and mascot, Wildcat.” The motion passed 7–0.
In a separate but related motion the board voted to continue broader rebranding discussions: “A motion was made by Dan Muirhead and seconded by Jason Sessum to continue the rebranding conversation.” That motion also passed unanimously, 7–0.
