Vice Chair Joyce Rosenau called the Reynolds School District Board of Education work session to order at 6:21 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2025, at Building I, Edgefield Campus. The board recorded attendance (Patty Carrera; Ana Gonzalez Muñoz; Francisco Ibarra; Aaron Muñoz; Joyce Rosenau; Cayle Tern; Michael Reyes absent) and reviewed an agenda that included a 5:30 p.m. executive session under ORS 192.660(2)(d) for negotiations.
The primary business was a first reading of multiple policy updates. Several policies were accepted for first reading (BCF, CEA, DD, IF, IGBHD, JHCA/JHCB, JOA), while others received specific edits or requests for clarification. Notable items included a proposal to remove language about board stipends in BHD (to return with reimbursement-only language), a directive to add an ODE link in GCBD/GDBD, clarifying the definition of “ORS” in IGBAB/JO-AR, and revised decision/appeals language in IIA-AR(3) specifying committee recommendation, superintendent/designee decision, and board appeal processes. The board also raised questions about IKF diploma language and IICA-AR field-trip logistics (late returns, travel insurance, permission slips).
The board did not record formal votes during the work session; items are at first-reading stage and will return for further action as appropriate. Vice Chair Rosenau adjourned the session at 7:39 p.m.
