Board approves large consent agenda including contracts and capital items; several items pulled for separate votes
Summary

The Spring Branch ISD Board approved a consent agenda on March 24 that covered budget summaries, facility improvement program updates, multiple contract awards, state innovative courses and other routine items.
Consent items listed in the transcript included change order #004 for Ag Farm Renovations-2022 Bond Project; a contract for Buffalo Creek Elementary School site improvements; Stratford HS CTE Renovations Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP); increase to a contract for purchase of school buses; a contract for an International Baccalaureate program; a contract with the Northwest Harris County Cooperative for Deaf and Hard of Hearing services; a contract for district instructional materials and allotment funds (10C7); requests for proposals for after-school programs and staffing services; and approval of payroll and operating expenses among other routine items.
President Lisa Andrews Alpe read the rules for the consent agenda. Trustee David Slattery pulled item 10F and Trustee John Perez requested that items 10C7 and 10D be removed for separate discussion and vote. The Board initially approved the consent agenda excluding those three items by a 7-0 vote. Item 10C7 was later approved 7-0 after Dr. Wolfe clarified it is tied to instructional materials allotment funds rather than professional learning. Item 10D was approved 7-0 with the exception that Multilingual Acculturation Studies for Newcomers was not approved; Fundamentals of Real Estate and Occupational Safety and Environmental Technology I were approved.
