SBISD honors students and staff for top rankings, arts and safety awards
Summary
Spring Branch ISD recognized top-performing schools, All-State musicians, theatre scholars, procurement excellence and a school safety award during the March 24 board meeting.
The Board of Trustees recognized multiple student and staff achievements at its March 24 meeting, including academic rankings, arts distinctions and procurement and safety honors.
Wilchester Elementary and Westchester Academy for International Studies were recognized by Children at Risk for top-five rankings based on STAAR scores, student growth and related metrics; principals Liz Goodman and Valerie Hernandez were congratulated. Students who earned placements in the Texas All-State Band, Orchestra, and Choir and those awarded the Texas Theatre Scholar Distinction were honored. SBISD Procurement Services earned the TASBO Purchasing Award of Merit for the 13th consecutive year. Chief Larry Baimbridge and the SBISD Police Department received the 2024 Dr. Rod Paige School Safety Award; Ken Culbreath presented the award and dispatcher Jose Torres was recognized.
Board members offered public congratulations; these items were ceremonial recognitions and required no Board action beyond acknowledgment.
