District staff described a districtwide attendance initiative that combines root-cause work, community engagement, health and counseling partnerships, and new PowerSchool dashboards to monitor attendance by student and period.
"Canyonville Elementary went to 81.5%, 90% above regular attending," Staff member (speaker 6) reported while reviewing attendance dashboards that color-code tiers for easy interpretation by staff and families. The presenter outlined root causes (lack of engagement, family barriers, health-care access and staff absenteeism), interventions such as RTI mentorship and empathy interviews, and partnerships with ADAPT and Evergreen for counseling and modular health services.
Staff said the new dashboard can produce printable summaries and postcards for families, show period-level attendance at the secondary level, and help building teams monitor chronic absence and celebrate consistent attenders. The district plans to use the dashboard reports after parent‑teacher conferences to assess whether communication and interventions have improved attendance.
