District staff told the board to expect rising insurance costs and detailed two incoming supplemental budgets for grants the district has received.
Committee member (speaker 7) said the district expects a roughly 17.5% increase in property and liability insurance and estimated the total increase at about $47,000. The speaker also previewed two supplemental budgets: a staff stipend grant (37 qualifying staff to receive roughly $445 each, with related payroll costs borne by the general fund) and a safety/security grant totaling $118,005.74 to fund visitor management systems, video intercoms, IP speakers, and other security technology (spendable through September 2027).
Staff said they will present a supplemental budget showing how much will be paid directly from grant funds versus general-fund payroll obligations and will fold remaining grant amounts into next year’s budget planning.
