Mrs. Tonya Rawls, Tarkington Early Childhood Assistant Principal, presented a new report-card format for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students that aligns assessments with TEKS and Pre-K guidelines.
Rawls said the district will use a standards-based rubric, send curriculum supplements home each six weeks, and replace the first six-week traditional report card with parent-teacher conferences to give families clearer, standards-linked feedback on early learning. A communication plan will help families understand the changes.
The board received the presentation as an information item; no formal action was recorded at the meeting.
