City Administrator Michael Grayum and Community Development Director Ardele Steele told the council construction of the splash pad will begin this week now that the city has received the required authorization and permits from the Washington State Department of Health. Both staff emphasized the target of opening the water feature in July and asked for cooperation from maintenance and operations staff to meet that timeline.
The update did not include a firm opening date beyond "as soon as possible in July" and staff said remaining work includes final construction scheduling and coordination with public-works maintenance. No formal council action was recorded at the meeting; staff will report progress to council as construction advances.
