Superintendent Tony Willis used his report to commend staff and administrators for their work preparing accreditation materials and to preview end‑of‑year priorities.
Willis said principals met earlier in the day and that schools are focused on end-of-year testing (ACT, ACAP) and unit planning for the next school year. "It's one thing for us to think we're doing pretty good, but it's really nice to have that validated when Cognia comes in and some of these outside sources say, you are really doing good," Willis said, thanking staff who compiled evidence and supported the engagement review.
He said district planning continues under the strategic plan adopted last year, including leadership development and coaching, increased stakeholder feedback cycles and work on digital learning and progress monitoring. Willis emphasized continuous improvement rather than resting on past gains and expressed appreciation for the board's support.
