At its Feb. 19 meeting the Calhoun County Schools board approved a series of policy updates, contracts and personnel actions as presented in the meeting packet.
The board approved a procurement policy update (policy 3.07) to align threshold amounts with state law and a revision to policy 5.09 to allow additional personal days for employees with 15 or more years of service. The board also approved the recommended student calendar and renewed the district wellness policy.
On contracts and agreements, the board approved an MOU with a behavior consulting firm to support students with severe behavioral needs and authorized an architect agreement for the Saks High School gym roofing project to address active leaks. The board also approved multiple personnel items (resignations, retirements, employments and transfers), three‑year principal contracts presented to secure leadership, a contract for student support services at Alexander Elementary and supplement schedule changes at Weaver High School.
Most items were approved after routine motions and recorded as "motion carries" in the meeting; specific vote tallies were not recorded verbatim in the transcript. The board's approvals now authorize staff to finalize contracts and proceed with implementation steps described in each agenda item.
