At the Aug. 12 special meeting, the board approved multiple equipment and safety-related items presented by Executive Director of District Operations Efrain Matamoros. The board authorized the Superintendent to negotiate for a 7.5-ton HVAC package unit for Valley View Elementary, directing staff to pursue the lowest quote with stipulated timelines.
For the high school welding-shop sprinkler system, the board moved the item into executive session for review and, upon return to open session, denied the initial bid and gave the Superintendent authority to seek additional quotes. The board also approved payment for a Pacifica van on the district's consent agenda.
All motions were recorded in the minutes; the HVAC and van purchases were approved to proceed under local funding authority, and the sprinkler procurement will be revisited after new quotes are obtained.
