Trustees approve athletic, classroom and campus projects including field turf and tennis court renovation

The Board of Trustees approved several facility and athletic projects at the Aug. 12 special meeting, including baseball and softball field turf (Fund Balance), renovation of four tennis courts, and cosmetology classroom renovations.
After executive-session review of bids, the board authorized moving forward with the lowest bidders and entering negotiations. The field-turf purchase was approved on a motion by Claudia Coronado, seconded by Marisol Peña; the motion carried with six votes and one abstention by Mario Degollado. The tennis court renovation vote likewise carried with six votes and Mario Degollado abstaining.
The approvals direct district operations staff to finalize contracts and proceed with project scheduling and procurement under the district's fund-balance authority. The board recorded the actions in the Aug. 12 minutes.
