Pitman council reviews library, water/sewer and highway department activity

At the May 27 meeting Councilwoman Musto and Councilwoman Guarni presented department reports covering library metrics, water and sewer operations and highway maintenance.
Councilwoman Musto provided McCowan Memorial Library April statistics: "Media Circulation: 2,406 People Count: 4,990 Internet Users: 72 Programs: 37 Program Attendance: 448." Councilwoman Guarni summarized Water/Sewer Department activity for May 10–23, reporting 25 water and sewer mark-out requests, four sewer stoppage plunges, nine meter reads for settlement, 11 meter-head upgrades and two meter-body replacements; she also noted completed water sampling on multiple streets and asphalt repairs on Lincoln, McKinley, N. Fernwood and Glenmere avenues.
Public Works reported collection totals (trash and recyclables), brush and leaf pickup volumes, storm-drain cleaning and maintenance tasks in Ballard Park and the Grove Auditorium. Public Works Director Mr. Rodi was noted to have attended a conference on recycling and the department will host a community "Touch A Truck" event on June 5.
