Pitman council approves letter of support for regional NFWF grant application

Councilwoman Musto described a request from a Project Director at the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions for a letter of support for a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) grant that would fund landscape improvements, outreach and education, and a homeowner rebate program to install rain gardens across Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties. Council members noted there was "no guarantee that the Borough or Pitman residents would see any benefit from this grant," but they were not opposed to providing a letter of support.
Council President James moved to approve the letter of support; Councilwoman Musto seconded the motion and it passed with recorded approval (Motion: James; Second: Musto; Ayes all). Mayor Razze and Administrator McCafferty will draft the letter for submission. The motion was procedural and did not obligate Borough funds or promise direct project participation.
