Waxahachie ISD board approves wide-ranging consent agenda including facility projects and student travel

Trustee Judd McCutchen moved to approve the consent agenda covering a range of administrative and operational items. Trustee Debbie Timmermann seconded and the motion passed 7–0. Items recorded in the minutes included acceptance of previous meeting minutes; monthly financial and maintenance reports; reports on student attendance and discipline; approval of new or modified positions; a waiver request for 2025–2026 professional development days and a low attendance waiver; and travel approval for the Waxahachie High School Theater Department to travel to New York City in March 2026.
Facility and procurement items approved on the consent agenda included a sewer line replacement at Finley Junior High with Concord Commercial Services; HVAC control replacements for Marvin Biomedical Academy, Northside Elementary, and Turner Pre-K Academy; replacement of additional HVAC units at Marvin Biomedical Academy; playground projects at Dunaway Elementary and Northside Elementary; and purchases of cafeteria and commons furniture for Global High School. The board also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ellis County Juvenile Board, an MOU with Region 10 for Texas Reading Academies, and an Adjunct Facility Agreement for the Ellis County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Agents.
