Waco Independent School District trustees met Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, for an attendance‑boundaries workshop called to order by Board President Stephanie Korteweg at 6:02 p.m. Korteweg said, "the notice of the meeting had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551." The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
District staff and outside consultants presented background material to the Attendance Boundaries Committee. Dr. Spicer welcomed attendees and described the committee's purpose: to assist the Board of Trustees in decisions regarding attendance boundaries for Waco ISD elementary, middle, and high schools. Jarrod Sterzinger, an O'Connell Robertson architect, reviewed previous bond programs, projects and their timelines to provide planning context; Bob Templeton of Zonda Education summarized demographic trends and enrollment data to inform potential boundary scenarios. Chief of Staff Elizabeth Cox outlined the committee considerations staff will use in developing draft scenarios and announced a second Citizens Committee meeting on Dec. 5 for continued review.
