Mayor Lexi Mayfield told the council that she had received a resignation letter dated Jan. 30, 2025 from Shannon Lopez, who resigned as town recorder and had not attended council meetings since September 2024. The council discussed staffing needs in the clerk's office and the mayor said interviews for new office employees were pending.
Councilors discussed that the office needs coverage five days a week and that the mayor would like to retain Nutterfort employees at least one day a week to provide support, but no final decision was made. The council also raised the idea of staggering council terms as a future agenda item. Thomas Exline moved to accept the mayor's report and Richard Desist seconded; the motion carried.
