Lumberport council green-lights multiple public-works actions, solicits sludge-removal bids

The Lumberport council took several operations and maintenance actions Oct. 21 related to public works and the town water/sewer infrastructure.
Council agreed to have Public Works remove cinder blocks placed by a resident that blocked the right-of-way to Amber O'Dell's property. The council also accepted the Public Works report identifying multiple repairs: actuator installation, leak repairs at Haywood, Cambria and Valley streets, and work on sewer stations. Council directed staff to check on fence panels at the lift station and have an electrician evaluate a high-service issue on pump #2.
Separately, the council approved soliciting extended bids for sludge removal at the Water Plant. The motion to obtain bids passed 4-0. These actions were recorded as part of regular maintenance and procurement planning.
