Lumberport approves $24,500 ARPA payment to Thrasher Engineering; receives water testing update

The Town of Lumberport approved payment of an invoice from Thrasher Engineering and heard a detailed report on local water testing Oct. 21.
Shelby Johnson of Region VI presented Thrasher Engineering's invoice for $24,500 and the town issued a matching check from its ARPA account at the meeting. Alan Westfall of Quality Water then presented in-depth testing results for water and sewage, accompanied by a poster explanation and monthly reports; Council accepted Quality Water's explanation and its monthly report (motion by Tom Exline, seconded by Michael Stire, vote 4-0).
Council discussed several operational items tied to the water system during the same period: repairs at Jack Run, electrician work needed on pump #2 high service, and consideration of fence panels at the lift station. Council also approved soliciting extended bids for sludge removal at the Water Plant.
