Village approves small infrastructure purchases, demolition payment and capital assignment for lake weed harvester

Trustees approved a package of routine municipal spending and capital actions following staff reports and an audit. The board voted to purchase check valves from A and C Industries for $3,185.10 to reduce road flooding by preventing drain backflow; the purchase will be paid from the Canal Enterprise Fund.
The board also approved payment to Panzer Demolition for site demolition at 20 Mayway Avenue under a previously negotiated agreement and voted to assign $105,000 from the fund balance to capital to purchase a 2004 We Do Boat mechanical weed harvester for lake vegetation control after staff reported the village's audited fund balance is about 26% of policy and available for assignment. Finance staff explained $190,000 in American Rescue Plan funds are earmarked for the DPW building and that the assignment is not expected to repeat yearly.
Separately the board approved a $5,400 rebuild of the transmission on a 2019 Ford Interceptor used by code enforcement. Trustees said the repair should extend the vehicle's useful life while staff continue to assess future fleet options.
