Property owner urges clarification of police jurisdiction along Euclid bike path

Joey M., an owner of lot 20 in the Highland Meadows subdivision, urged Rolling Meadows to "step up as leaders to resolve the public-safety concerns" he says arise from lack of clear written confirmation of primary police jurisdiction for the area located 10 feet south of the Euclid bike path. He said the bike path encroaches onto his private property and that the Chief of Police, the City Manager and the Village of Palatine have not provided written clarification.
Council did not take immediate action on the request; the issue was recorded during the public-comment period and staff follow-up would be required to establish formal jurisdictional clarity or a written boundary agreement.
